Troedyrhiw

I had a job interview today and I wasn't successful. I was really upset as I wanted the job badly. Then I remembered these photographs. I took them yesterday when i visited my friend. This is the view from her house. Isn't it fabulous? It's the village I live in and I love it.

Brecon Beacons - In the distance

I took this photograph last week. I took it from Merthyr Vale. It's a fabulous view on a nice day.

Aberfan

I took these photographs today. They are of Aberfan Cemetery, the children's Graves and the Garden Of Remembrance. The last photograph is the view now, of where the tips and school were. The big yellow building in the centre of the photograph is the Aberfan & Merthyr Vale Community Centre and it is built on the actual site where Pantglas School stood. It always brings tears to my eyes when I go up there and today was no exception. The memorials have been restored this year and inscriptions added. It struck me today how many of the parents are buried beside their beloved children now. Many of the parents passed away in their 40's, 50's and 60's. Medically it would be argued but I don't doubt from broken hearts.

Autumn Colours

I took this photograph at Llwydcoed Crematorium today. The colours were beautiful and I just managed to catch the last few red leaves left on the tree. The peacefulness over there somehow made it all the more beautiful.

New Addition To The Family

Welcome Rosie & Sam (named by the daughters) My other half saw these two beauties today and 'just had to have them' So we now have two new additions to the menagerie. They are lovely though. They snuggle up close together on the perch. Awww bless. I am already worrying about what is going to happen to the one that's left when one dies! Which could be sooner than we think if Minnie the jack russell (the second youngest member of the menagerie) gets her way and has a taste! Or maybe she just wants to play.....

The Park Where I Live

This is the park behind my house. I really don't appreciate how lovely it is until I look at the photographs. It's been a beautiful crisp, cold autumnal day today. One of those days when you realise how lovely it is to be alive and healthy and able to enjoy the outdoors.

Benidorm October 2007

This was Benidorm October 2007. The two photographs above were the first week of our holiday and the photo to the left is the day before we came home. A total washout. I have never seen rain like it. The water was pouring down the underground car park of our hotel and everyone was scrambling to get their hire cars out. The poor hotel staff were desperately trying (and failing) to keep the water out of the lobby and also trying and unbelievably succeeding in coping with holidaymakers posing for photographs with them as they swept rainwater frantically down an already brimming man-hole. I'm sorry, but if I'd been one of those staff the water wouldn't have been the only thing down the man hole and the brush would have been wrapped firmly around a neck. Probably the cameraman's!
